Paint Parts Handler

Department: Paint Department
Reports To: Paint Department Manager & Lead Hand
Position Summary:
The Paint Parts Handler role is responsible for supporting the paint line process by preparing, hanging, inspecting, and taking down parts. This includes ensuring proper setup, maintaining quality standards, packaging finished parts, and keeping work areas clean and organized. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, follows safety standards, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Parts Preparation & Hanging
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and drawings.
- Bring in parts, set up, and hang parts efficiently and safely.
- Maximize cart space and ensure proper marking of parts for paint color.
- Inspect parts after blasting for weld quality or grease removal.
- Assist with prepping parts for paint (cleaning, masking).
- Maintain an adequate supply of clean hooks.
Paint Quality & Take Down
- Inspect painted parts for quality before removal.
- Safely take down painted parts and follow the packaging instructions.
- Return hooks to designated storage areas after use.
Equipment & Tool Use
- Operate hoists, cranes, forklifts, and power tools safely.
- Use electronic devices to track or identify parts.
- Push and pull karts and lift/maneuver parts up to 50 lbs.
- Report equipment repair needs promptly (tools to the Supervisor, heavy equipment to the Manager).
Workplace Organization & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Ensure hooks, tools, and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Follow all health and safety procedures related to equipment, tools, and processes.
- Report any safety concerns immediately to the Paint Supervisor or Paint Manager.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of paint processes and quality standards preferred, but training will be provided.
- Comfortable using electronic devices, following standardized procedures, and technical documentation
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Reliable, motivated, timel,y and self-directed

SCHNELL Industries Inc. is looking for a skilled Powder Coating Painter with a strong, quality work ethic to join our manufacturing team. This role involves applying powder coating finishes to parts, maintaining painting equipment, and ensuring quality standards are met. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and understand work orders, interpret blueprints, and drawings.
- Prepare and paint parts to required specifications; able to follow instructions.
- Set up, maintain, and clean painting equipment
- Ensure proper color changes and maintain paint booth cleanliness.
- Inspect painted parts for quality and correct any imperfections.
- Follow company safety protocols and report any concerns.
- Assist in other areas of the shop when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of paint processes, blasting finishes, and coating standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Comfortable using electronic devices for job-related tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull carts, and stand for extended periods.
- Positive and respectful attitude with a willingness to learn and grow, growth mindset.
- Must have good verbal and written English communication skills
