Seasonal Project Laborer

Schnell Industries is a fast-growing cutting edge Equipment Manufacturer with its own line of agricultural, domestic, and industrial products as well as product lines developed with and for other industrial companies. We were founded in 1994, built on honesty and integrity and we are located in Winkler, MB.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Due to continued growth, we currently have the exciting opportunity for a reliable, hard-working, mature, and motivated individual to help set up our newly built paint shop on a full-time, seasonal basis. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:15 pm, with occasional overtime, as required for the completion deadline of this project. For the right individual, there is the potential for some flex in hours and in the exact start and end times as well as the details of seasonal commitment, which are open to negotiation with the possibility of extending employment to a potential long-term position upon completion of the project. Start date should be between the beginning to mid-August.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Professional & efficient communication with supervisors, management, shop staff, maintenance & yard personnel.
• Set up paint shop and general shop equipment as needed (including blasting booth, paint ovens, paint both etc.)
• Troubleshoot and calibrate equipment as needed, so that it is ready for production use.
• Operate forklift to safely load and unload materials as required.
• Utilize hand measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and angle gauges to verify part dimensions and ensure correct setup.
• Commitment to work in a safe manner and ensure safety standards pertaining the set up of equipment are met.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Acute attention to detail to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Ability to prioritize workload and work well in collaboration with the team to meet all specified deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Must be reliable, mature, motivated & self-driven, able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be confident in the use of electronic devices and technically minded
• Good knowledge of measuring tape, caliper, and all units of measuring from both metric and imperial standards
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, set up instructions, engineering plans, and material specifications
• Mechanically inclined, with a good understanding of electrical wiring and knowledge & experience of equipment, tool selection, optimum settings, and understanding of how things work and why.
• Must be able to work with a high level of quality and safety
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined positions, and capable of standing for extended periods of time
