Structure: Permanent, Full-Time
Due to continued growth, Schnell Industries Inc. is looking to fill full-time permanent daytime positions as Assembly Laborers to join our production team.
The Assembly Laborer is responsible for assembling parts and components according to work instructions and quality standards. This role involves using hand and power tools, inspecting completed work, and supporting daily production activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, follows safety procedures, and works effectively with team members.
The successful candidates will be dependable, safety-conscious, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly Operations & Production Support
- Assemble parts and components according to work orders, drawings, and instructions
- Prepare and organize parts, hardware, and materials for assembly
- Use hand and power tools to fasten, fit, and install components
- Check that all required components are correctly installed, meeting specifications and quality standards
- Assist team members with assembly tasks and material handling
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies for defects, damage, or missing components, reporting defects / rework requirements
Equipment & Tool Use
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely
- Operate material handling equipment as trained and authorized
- Use electronic devices to identify parts and track work progress
- Maintain production records or tagging systems as required
Workplace & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area, following all company health and safety requirements
- Properly use required PPE, tools, and equipment
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality concerns promptly
- Lift, carry, push, and pull parts and materials using proper handling techniques
Qualifications & Key Traits for Success:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical work, including lifting weights up to 50 lbs
- Ability to follow work instructions and read basic drawings and measurements
- Previous assembly or manufacturing experience is an asset
- Comfortable using electronic devices and production documentation
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Safety-conscious and responsible, with strong attention to detail
- Respectful, positive attitude with a willingness to help in other areas
- Committed to quality workmanship and following standards
- Reliable, motivated, willing to learn
